Greetings!

Is there a way to use GIRDER to SEND IR commands thru the IR blaster attached to the MCE (Phillips) 2005 unit?

Example (and I have done this before using Girder and my USB-UIRT)

I want to send commands to my Sony Surround Sound Receiver to turn it on, etc using the blaster from the MCE remote instead of using my USBUIRT.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Nobody has been able to develop a plugin that can use the IR blaster of the MCE receiver.

Are there any major technical reasons why this is the case or is it likely to be done at some point?

Thanks!

I don't think Microsoft has provided any documentation or programming samples to do this. So it eventually might but hasn't since MCE came out what 2 years ago?

Then what does the "MCE Remote Plugin" do?

I'm in the same boat... I was given a MCE remote, reciever, and IR blaster. I want to use to to control my Dish Network box.

Since the MCE remote reciever and transceiver are detected as HID devices, would the "HID Remote" plugin work?

apparently the mce plug in only RECEIVES commands from the remote. It actually works quite well...

The key here, is that I (and appearantly you) would like to use the IR blaster to remotely control devices.

I would also add that the ability to use the IR blaster from MCE would be an attractive feature, increasing Girder sales.....

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure you've ran across thread after thread after thread of people wanting to do exactly what you and I are. It's frustrating. I'd gladly shell out $20 if Girder could let me do this. Promixis, are you listening? :)
