Hi All,

I have a problem with Girder and my mouse. Whenever I enable the pluggin for my input device, in this case a USB-UIRT, my mouse stops working reliably. I have a Gyration RF keyboard and mouse combo.

I can use my mouse from 6ft away with no problems at all if Girder is not turned on or the Toggle Input Devices is set to disabled. As soon as I turn on my input device, my mouse doesn't work at all, or I have to be within inches of the base station for it to receive any signal. The Keyboard also seems to be affected, but not as drastically so.

I'm using Girder 3.3.7 and the USB-UIRT pluggin ver. 2.6.9, if that information is import.

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered. I searched through the forums for the past hour and didn't see any mention of similar problems.

Also, thanks in advance for any help you might have.

I use the exact same setup, and I've never experienced this, so I'd have to guess interference or hardware as the culprit.

to cover some basics: Move the RF receiver as far away from the computer and tv that you can. If that doesn't work, try to use a different USB port for either/or device. Reinstall drivers (check firmware on USB-UIRT), etc. etc...

I know its not much, but I hope it helps.

Might also be worth using a powered USB hub

I, unfortuanatly, won't have a chance to try them today, but I will as soon as I can and get back to you guys on how it worked.

Very wierd!

There must have been some sort of interference with my TV and/or the UIRT. I moved the RF station ontop of one of my speakers (which my wife hates so i'll have to find another more permanant solution), and now everything seems to work fine. Moving to ontop of the speaker had 3 effects:

1. it moved it away from the TV another ~6"

2. It moved it away from the UIRT another 2ft.

3. It made the USB cable to the RF station completely straight, which if I'm reading some other things correctly MAY have made it act as a sort of antenna, which could improve performance.

It also forced me to untangle some of the wires behind my entertainment center to get the full length of the cable, so you never know if that fixed the interference as well. Thanks for the suggestions and colored me just a little suprised that it actually worked :)
