View Full Version : IGOR USB and hibernate

Hello

I am using the IGOR USB reciever and Girder with WinXP and it is working perfectly.
The problem is that the reciever doesn't work after I resume from hibernate. It looks fine in the Device Manager but Girder doesn't recieve the commands. I've found a couple of ways around this problem: If I unplug it and put it back in it works again, but this is not an acceptable way. I can disable/enable it from the Device Manager, this solution is better as a script can take care of it automatically. But then the script has to run every time I resume from hibernate... How do I do this?
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is there an easier solution?

Best regards
ThomasR

There are a few plugins that doesn't like hibernation.

you could close the igor plugin (disable it) when going to hibernation, and resume it when coming back. I think there is an XP plugin that does detect it.

search around, there are a few example of people having this problem with other applications.
(sorry can't help more, my computer is running all the time...)

hope that helps.

I figured i can use devcon.exe a utility from microsoft to make create a batch file that will disable and re-enable the USB device.

I was able to use frodoplayer (the front end to my carputer) to run that command triggered by a resume... but you probably use your computer as a...computer so you will have to find some sort of utility that moniters wake events that will run a batch file to be complely automatic.
