I have a working gml to controll my HTPC.
I would like to start with a Mute toggle from the Click function on my PowerMate to Girder and out my USBUIRT to my receiver, this a standard IR code that works now with main lobby.
Curently I am doing this to give the wife a quick way to mute the sound when she wants and not have to visit the audio rack and not look for a remote or airpanel...
I have the driver running on Girder now.
XP-Pro SP-2
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Not sure where your stuck... with the Powermate or the USB-UIRT, so 'll try to answer best I can.
To get the USB-UIRT to send signals:
Make a new command
In the lower-left ~Plug-in tab, choose USB-UIRT.
Click ~Settings
The driver config should pop-up
Click on Learn
Hold your TV's remote about 2 inches away from the receiver.
Press button and hold until the Learning process stops (a second or so)
The new command will now control whatever button your TV remote would.
This assumes you have the USB-UIRT plug-in enabled.
To use the Powermate to generate events (ie. trigger a IR code), download the plug-in. Set it up. After you learn the remote code into a command, just highlight it, click learn, and then push (or rotate) the knob.

Hope this helps.

Wow, there is life on this subject. Thought I would have to sheve it for a time.
I have everything setup on my computer, USBUIRT and powermate plugin, I just had no Idea how to make it learn.
Ok Supose I get this working tomarow. The next trick is to do a volume up and down.
When the Powermate is spun right or left how will my receiver handel this. Are the commands What happens when a barage of commands come in. Or dors it just repeat untill the Knob stops ?
Thanks for the help

Since I don't have this device, I went searching around...
Not sure if the plug-in has been worked on in a while, but about a year ago, many people were having a problem with the plug-in and XP. One work around was to send keyboard commands to the powermate application... Girder was not generating events. Just throwing this out there in case you run into the same problem.
Please keep us informed on your progress, as I have been eyeing one of these for a carputer.

OK,
I will have some time this weekend to play.
I hope it works, the hardware is very nice . Looks good and has the feel of a real audio knob. And it glows too!
