for not being very active this last couple weeks.
My development machine is in process of a reload due to adware and other muck. This is the machine I had alpha installed on, as I can't afford to place it on my other machines as yet. They are "mission critical" DJ systems, and cannot risk.
I am about ready to put alpha back on though. One problem I had previously was with the email results mechanism. Hopefully I will be able to set this up proper this go round.

No worries Jeff. The email that you are talking about is that the error emailing? If so there was a bug in there that has been fixed a little while ago. Note that currently only the file execute supports this ...

I'm not sure, but I think it was a problem on my end, as i was trying to send error reports through my Pop Gmail account, it wasn't liking this.
I tried to set it up to use an outlook express accessed email account, but flopped there too, as it wasn't set up as my primary method of Email. As a fresh machine, it doesn't know any better now, so I can set it up right. I hope.

Starting over again!
Why is it XP can be such a PITA at times?
I discovered some time ago, that If I tried to hibernate, it would corrupt my bootup files, requiring a reload.
Found out that standby does the same. I had a backup image of the partition, but can't get to it do to XP. I had it stored on a fat 32 partition, so that I could access it from win 98, and while trying to fix things with a fresh install, it converted the starage fat partition to ntfs, and thinks it's unformated, yet, I have been able to use partition explorer in my partition program and see the data is intact. Problem is now, that it won't allow me to convert it back to fat 32 so I can access it again.
I'm about to scrap this machine as it's been a reall headache with XP. I don't heve this problem with my other systems! This is soooo frustrating. I've already lost 12 hours trying to get it up and running, only to lose it again because of going into standby mode. Looks like another fresh install, and activation yet again, then update to the latest SP, again, then re set up my programs, yet again...
If I had a gun, IT would be out of MY misery.
I actually considered dropping it from the roof too!Just like the tech TV commercials. :x

I did that once. It's so cool and feels GREAT. The computer exploded (sans flame, of course) and it's remains were scattered everywhere.

I may just do this yet!
#!*$ thing is still down.
Looks like I'll be trying a different ram stick or Mobo.
Thought it was my copy of pro, so I tried home, but it does it too. I'm now suspecting that when it copys ram to the drive it becomes corrupt. This has a 1.8 processor on it. I have a 2.53 without a board, and a 512 Ram that need a mobo, so I may just revive them, and ditch the old RIMM and mobo.
I want to get girder back up and running, but need to get the system working properly first. I'm so tired of reloading this system, but at least I've been able to streamline the load process quite a bit.

Sounds like you need a copy of Ghost or DriveImage

I have drive image, and it's been absolutely no help at all!
I saved an image to my network, and it won't allow me to retrieve it. I saved a base load image to CD, and it won't allow me to access a second CD drive. I try to use one, and it needs the DI disk , so again no go. I saved to another partition on the same drive, and it converted it from fat32 to NTFS, and made it unreachable.
What I need is another seperate HDD in the unit!
I have a USB 120 G external but it's loaded with music. Thought about trying it, but not sure if I'd see it without loading drivers for it. Thats actually where I networked the image to.
I'm actually gonna have to resolve this anyhow, as I was planning to move my only copy of Pro to my main DJ rack, and swap it with the home On that system.
Wouldn't you know, that's the only system that I have using RamBus (Rimms) memory, so nothing to swap with! Everything newer is using DDR memory, everything older Simms and Dimms

I've never had that problem with Ghost.

I actually had System works 2002, and tried Ghost with it, and it simply wasn't friendly enough to figure out. That's why I went with Drive Image 7. It als came with version 6, and it is simply a problem with this system. I don't have issues at all with imaging my other 2 systems.

I'm gonna scrap it!
This Mobo is the only mobo I have that uses Rambus, memory, and I'm not going to buy any more. It was an Abit TH7II Raid board with 256 Rambus, and a 1.8 P4 processor. I just ordered a refurbished MSI 865 Neo that has better feature set that I can drop a 2.53 with 512 that I have sitting around collecting dust. I'll save the 1.8 processor to update my slowest system which is a P3 933 for the kids when I pick up another mobo down the road.
Hopefully, I'll have this system back up over the weekend.
