Hi everybody,

I'd like to build an universal remote controled via PC (using LabVIEW or another simplier program), no need to be wireless (between PC and IR E/R).

In other terms, I'm looking for a quite simple and robust solution to learn (receive) and send IR code to several devices (TV, STB, VCR, etc.) with my PC.
I'd like to know is whether it's possible to simply connect an IR E/R to my PC (USB or RS232 or GPIB) and to access the signal via LabVIEW (NI). I tried with the EL-LINK-IR (Lascar) but I can't access the real signal (see attached file), just a strange RS232 ASCII translation using hyperterminal)

I may repeat but my aim is to get the signal emitted by an IR remote control (whatever the code used), to store it in a PC (via RS232, GPIB or USB) and then to be able to send the signal when asked by the LabVIEW interface.
In fact, I would like to create a LabVIEW virtual universal remote control, able to learn signal and send them back if asked.

I think I'm on the good forum to ask this question, so I'm really looking forward to your answer!
Thank you in advance.

Nobody's here?

You can interface LabVIEW with Girder using my Internet Event VI. If you can't find it here, let me know and I'll send it to you with an example GML file.
