Hi Mike,
in overlay mode, i see elapsed and total time, status, track and chapter. In VMR9 renderless mode, i see nothing... display is blank.

I see, likely the rendereing is done on a directx surface which Girder cannot display on.

Therefore, is a TheaterTek problem on VMR9 renderless?

The issue is that the LCD display is blank, right? Girder isn't trying to display anything on the screen, is it?
That means that DVDSpy isn't generating any events. Perhaps renderless mode does not use the same DVD navigator or does not use it in the normal way. Or perhaps it just does not use WM_TIMER; Spy++ would confirm that.
Unfortunately, I don't have TT on an XP box here for testing, so I can only do normal rendering unless I upgrade.

actually to clarify I think it does not display on the LCD but also my OSD no longer works in renderless mode under TT XP OSD causes TT to minimise. So two issues here.
Is there a way around this ?

No. Renderless mode is an exclusive mode, no other display function can use the system at the same time.
