I think 3.0.23 accidentally shipped without the ast driver. Try Girder 3.0.24.

 Yeah have a little patience with my helpfile. It's not the best but there is a lot of good getting started information in there.

AAAhhh thanks  if you're interested- I am embarking on an IR remote control project, wanna hear about it?

Ok I'm basically redesigning the handset of this remote to coincide with the reciever.

I am replacing the mouse pad with an analogue, and replacing all the buttons with a digital joystick.

I will try to integrate a cycle button(through a PIC micro processor) to provide new IR commands to the dig. joystick (I don't know how yet though!) with an LCD screen (16x2) so each time the cycle button is pressed the new commands show on the screen, corresponding to the button press!

OK! now I'm in the help trying to sussout how to configure commands and stuff-- and it says:
"· Select the ‘Start’ (first) command and set the command option to execute, and browse to the winamp filename. (press apply afterwards!)"

Thats great--but how do you set the command option to execute!

am I going about the help file in the wrong order? should I just follow it chronologically to get results, or am I being a doofus?
