View Full Version : Girder not sending commands (speech plugin)

Hi all,

I'm trying out the speech plugin but can't get it to work as it probably should. I have installed the MS SSDK 5.1 and trained it to my voice. Anyhow, when enabling the speech plugin (GirderSpeech.dll + GirderSpeech.xml) and importing the demo gml file all seems to be working fine. When I say "computer" the logging pluging registers event 1 and the same with quiet (event 2), but nothing else happens. If I say "blipblop" no event is registered, as it should be. Girder isn't sending any commands (it should open an OSD with the word "Computer" and "Quiet", which works with "Test command").

In addition to the speech plugin I have the GenericX10(tried the old and updated version), OSDMenu (don't use this though...), Say (tried without it as well), SendMessage, TaskCreate and TaskSwitch enabled. Am I missing something?
Girder version is 3.3.1c by the way.

regards
Tor Helge

Try installing the Logger plugin and post the results - sounds as though the event is being sent to the wrong device to me.

I have installed the logger plugin (if you reread my post you will see that:). It reports an event (plugin#88 event 1, which corresponds to me saying "Computer"). Will post a transcript later as I'm at the university right now.

Sorry, I misread your message.

Well, that's a good start. My guess is that the event string attached to your command is probably for a Girder event (device id 18) rather than a Speech plugin event. You'll need to relearn the event as a Speech plugin event instead.

This is my xml file, not the one that came with the plug-in.

Have fun,
