Need some help please to clear the fog on what software needs to run on which machines in my home media LAN.
I have a HTPC loaded with all my audio files. Girder and JRMC are loaded on this "server" machine and the JRMC libary is local. I have two other PCs ("clients") running NR to control the HTPC using Girder. One of these machines also has JRMC loaded.
On the client machine with JRMC, I start NRMediabridge using port 20002. JRMC 10 then starts up automatically. I then start NR on this same client that has the Mediabridge plugin set to port 20002, local host, and instance (-10). This configuration works as expected.
I am stuck trying to get the mediabridge to talk directly to the remote HTPC and accept NR-JRMC requests without having JRMC running on the local PC.
On the client, does JRMC have to be installed and loaded by NRMediabridge? Are there other options to keep the software installed to a minimum? Running only NR and plugin on the client and JRMC (and the audio and library files) on the HTPC would be the best; similar to how Girder is set up.
Thanks Don
