do you have one of these modern keyboards that have these great multimediakeys? If yes, you could try to use these.
If not, you could just setup the keyboard plugin to use ctrl-alt-p for play.
or if you're interested, I could send you an export file of a group that I've been using for quite some time now. It uses the print key to activate some hotkeys (basicaly F1-F12, ins, del, home, end, pgup, pgdown, pause). these hotkeys are active for a few seconds (or stay active until you deactivate them)

that's how I understood it, so maybe I was hard to understand  ...
I'm using Mario Ivankovits' keyboard driver v2.1. You can get it via http://www.girder.nl/download.php?Link=150

BTW, I don't have a MM keyboard, just a generic laptop keyboard.

just as here... that's why I do that temporary hotkey thing.

BTW, does girder work when it is not the active window? or does it have to be the active window? If so, this defeats the purpose...

no, it's always minimized to the systemtray here, the only time I open the window is when I have to change something.

For an idea of what I want to do, look at
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=85103
It's a plugin for Winamp that actually does what I want (but for winamp only)...

didn't try it, but as far I read the descrition, you can do exactly that by using the keyboard plugin and, of course, Girder. It might need some more time to get it to work, but you can do whatever you can do with girder.

Is there any way to have girder work without a remote (for instance by using a set of hot keys)...I need this so that, for instance, if I'm using Zoom Player as a music player and it's minimized, I can change songs, mute, pause, etc from within whatever program I happen to be in by hitting (ctrl/alt/p) or something.

THANK you.

Will give those a try when I get back from dr's office...

If I can't get it to work (cuz I'm just stupid that way maybe?)...would you consider chat (IRC or something) to talk me thru it?
