Hi All,
I would like to use girder to sense when my amps are turned on. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding available sensors that have girder support.
Cheers in advance

Geoff,
I believe that www.phidgets.com will do this. There are other ways as well.

Mike,
Looks like Phidgets might just work, they dont have an AC sensor at the moment (One on its ways in 6 weeks), I am sure I can find one elsewhere though.
How would I link girder to the Phidget card is there a driver or will I need to custom write a bit of Lua?
Cheers Geoff

No one did a project that was written up. I am sure the offer is still available from them.

I first thought about the HouselincBOB and the CRmagnet.
[How-To] Appliance monitor, using a CR magnetics current transformer (http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=41)
I would look at using a Split-Core Transformer (http://www.crmagnetics.com/newprod/search_result.asp?CATEGORY=ALL&PRODUCT_ID=CR3110-3000) hooked up to a x10 Powerflash module, as mentioned here:
http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=102912&highlight=split+core
Cheap and easy ;)
Good luck,
Treetop
ps. The Houselinc BOB appears to have been discontinued...

Those two sites are great for grabbing ideas
Here's another method (which Im about to try with a powerflash module... just picked up the sensors the other day)
[How-To] Monitor a device using a status light (http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=1505)
And one more for fun ;)
This one is just ingenious....
[How-To] Monitor When Your Cell Phone Rings, (While You Are Home) (http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=1164)
Let us know how it goes zones,
