Mark F, I am using Parallel G3 Plugin, that is working with my G4 but has no settings interface... Are you thinking about an update to API 3 G4 plugin ?
Thanks.

O.K. after we know that Mark is the wrong person to ask about a replacement.
So i ask the promixis team for a replacement or to contact igor to do it.
Girder 4 crashes when i load the igor plugin.
The igor is the most downloaded girder plugin, so i think it's very important
to support it.

BeRnA,
The DLPort IO plugin can be used to create the same function as the parallel port plugin. You will need some LUA code to do the polling and generate events based on changes in the line states.
I have no plans to port that plugin to G4.

Contact Igor, the author of the plugin.
I sent Igor an e-mail at mailto://cesko@internet.sk to ask if he has plans to create an IgorPlug USB plug-in for Girder 4. I'll let everyone know what response I get.
This thread has been a bit quiet for the past month or so. Does anyone else have an update on this issue?

I thought that was sort of old school, that most people either used X-10 remotes or USB-UIRTS or TIRAs.

I choose the IgorPlug USB after a good deal of research. This was at least a year ago so there are likely new players in the market now. I liked how the IgorPlug USB was nearly an "open source" project like Linux - the complete hardware plans and software are available to the public. Cost was also significant factor - for the price of one USB-UIRT or TIRA I got three IgorPlug USB. And I already had a IR extender system in my home so I didn't need an RF remote.
Overall, I've been satisfied with the performance of his device and remain a BIG fan of Girder too. However, for people who need RF or simply only need one unit, other systems may be more suitable as you pointed out.

I received a reply from Igor Češko, the author of the IgorPlug USB plug-in.
He is planning to rewrite the plug-in for Girder 4.

I have rewriten plugin for Girder 4. Small bug was inside ;-) .
But the plugin for USB receiver have worked.
All updates are on my website: http://www.cesko.host.sk or http://www.cesko.euro-science.net. Ron can update them to Proximis website also.
Thanks.
Igor
P.S.: The older plugin - for serial port only - needs some improovements (like in new plugin for USB receiver). Maybe in near future (because the USB version has bigger future ;-) ).

Great! :D
I just tried the serial plugin. It works decent, the IR codes are different from girder 3.3, that is not a big deal though.
But different remotes generate the same IR code on certain buttons (this didnt happen in 3.3).
I guess it needs tweaking as you said.
Edit: The problem with same IR code for several buttons can be solved by changing "enable last bit" to a higher value. Its in the igor plugin settings.
