Update your MFC library. Please post the url to the download here as more people are having trouble with this. Thanks.

Win98SE should do just fine.
Does the SlinkE work okay with the native software ?
Just a thought, did the creators of the SlinkE make an upgrade to their software that makes my plugin incompatible ? Steve did you notice anything like this ?

I'll see if I can get my SlinkE up and running again later today.

Aaaaaaah the answer was in the thread that you brought up!

If you are using the 0.92F release you'll need the debug build MFC libraries. Please download
http://www.girder.nl/download.php?Link=140
This is the 0.92 release, NON debug.

...Steve did you notice anything like this ?
Sorry for the delayed reply--sound like using the non-debug version of the Slinke plugin should solve the problem.
If it doesn't...
There haven't been any SW releases from Nirvis since a 6/28/01 beta version of CDJ, which I'm runnin without problems under XP.
The most recent (AFAIK) SlinkX stuff is as follows:
slinkeprx.dll: 3/25/01
slinkeserv.exe: 3/25/01
slinkx.ocx: 3/25/01
SLINKE~1.DLL: 6/25/01
SLINKE~1.EXE: 6/25/01
I'm not sure what firmware version my Slin-e is running, let me know if you need that info.
Best regards -- Steve

Hi all,
I'm a new user looking forward to automating my home theater. I have used a slinke for years to control my cd changers and would like to expand the use of my slinke.
My problem is I downloaded the slinke plugin and when Girder starts up I get an error message listing the full path to the slinke plugin "c:/programfiles/girder3/plugins/hardware/slinke.dll" after clearing that message Girder returns with an error code 0 (zero). I look for the slinke under the setting tab and it is not listed.
My O.S. is W98SE. Any clues as what I need to do to solve this error condition?

Anyone still using Win98SE with this version of girder and slinke? I downloaded the MFC from the above link, but the problem remains. Does anyone have the required version numbers in order to support girder with slinke?

I'm not at home right now but I've tried this at girder release 3.0.24 and 3.0.25pre5 and slinke 0.92f. I see there is a new version of girder posted 3.0.25pre6 which I'll try when I get home. Thanks for all your help! Which OS do you recommend for using the girder system?

I just added the Xantech adapter which came with a bios upgrade last week. I hadn't tried Girder before doing this upgrade.

Current software status:
MFC42.dll 12/5/01 6.00.8665.0
MSVCRT.dll 12/29/01 6.10.8637.0
Slinkeserv 12/5/01 1.32 build 642
girder.exe 3/4/2002 3.0.25.6
slinke 3.1
I hope this info helps.
I still get the error when girder starts. the msg is the same, points to the slinke.dll.
CDJ does work.
