As you might have noticed Girder 4.0 is a long way from us still. So I decided to give Girder 3.0 a big rewrite. Here are the features:
1. Groups can be nested as much as you like
2. Per command as many eventsstrings as you like
3. Antirepeat configurable per eventstring
4. filetype is now XML
5. Completely rewritten eventrouting
6. Registry -> now saving under HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE
7. Action plugins added new interface that solves potential problems with strings.
8. Added Synchronous Payload to an Event ( Mike here you go! ) So for example DVDSpy can send data along with the event. And LCD Plugin can read this data and display it on the screen.
9. Actionplugins can retreive the synchronous payload.
This update gives Girder lots of new power, I basically ripped Girder inside out so there are bound to be bugs! Please test it and report back so we can all get rid of Girder 3.0 asap

Mark, I released some preliminary docs on the new API. Which is ofcourse the old api with some additions  Mind GetPayload returns a BOOL in 3.1beta1. This will change to returning a Integer in beta2. (It will return the size of the payload not only if there is a payload. )

jediperry, Could you elaborate a little, I tried this dialog, but it seems to work just fine. Maybe send me your .gml file so I can have a look. Could you also send me your .gir file so I can put that into the convertor ?
Yes it makes the tree tidier, this upgrade was long overdue, btw,.. What a coincidence I released Girder 3.0.0 May 5 2000, exactly 2 years later 3.1. You'd think I'd planned this.

Mike, I've found the problem that you had, this was in the convertor ( it forgot to write the Identifier ) So download the updated converter and retry

Yeah, no problem leaving them out.
Also, by clicking on 'Learn Event' for a command it should automatically create an eventstring object if an event is learnt.
Yes it should!
-Do we need antirepeat on the multigroup?
yeah, I'm sure people will ask for it if it is not there
-On the Girder Action Tab, for any girder action using the 'Command Browse' window, 'OK' does not do anything - you cannot select a command to go to.
You probably used the old converted, like i said before it forgets to write the identifier, mixing up the browse dialog, thus this is fixed with a re-convert with the new converter.

For you guys that are testing, you are testing right ?, the volume dialog is broken in beta1, beta2 will fix this. I'm now working on the copy and pasting, so it doesn't close the tree on paste....

Very Cool! I won't have any time to test drive it until this weekend but I'll report back as soon as I've had a chance to play

The job isn't complete until the paperwork is done. Any docs for the new API stuff? Thanks.

got one
Pressing OK on the dialogue box used to select a group to enable/disable/goto/etc doesn't do anything. and the conversion to the gml file lost all the above settings.
This is definatly much cooler Ron, my tree is already looking much tidier.

Yeah thats probably it, this is a really old gir file that i just keep adding bits to and moving stuff arround so it is probably a bit messed up. .gir & .gml files on there way.

Just downloaded. Looking pretty good. Nice work Ron

Also, I notice it has cleared all my links for commands which made use of the command linking. (from my previous .gir file).
(EDIT) as I just noticed this is the same problem as Mike is having.
Thankyou.
Keep up the good work!
