View Full Version : How are templates used??

This is a question prompted by the latest Designer, but not a problem with it. How are the three templates (master, device and macro) expected to be used?
The structure of my CCF is unchanged for over two years and has never used a template. I suspect I may be missing some useful structuring opportunities. Can anyone explain the purpose and use of these templates?
Thanks
Brian

I dunno the intended use but if you build a basic layout in each then goto device properties you can select which one the page uses

In Tonto -
Each template page is used for that type of page (Home, Device, Macro), though it's set to "roll forward" (IE: If no macro template, use device template, if no device template, use home template).
It allows you to set some things used on all pages.
In Designer (Now) -
The same system is used, and the designer will save the page groups as Home, Device, or Macro depending on the template selected.
In Designer (Future) -
You'll be able to create more templates, such as a "device specific" template (IE: A MediaBridge device with a specific look and feel).

Thanks Dan & Ben,
Something to remember to use when I next restructure my CCF. At the moment every panel is totally separate.
