Convert IR Dongel to serial

Hi All,

I have an IR dongle that came with my PVR250 capture card. I do not need it on the main PC as I use a USB UIRT. My question is can I convert the dongle that came with the capture card to serial (it has a 1/8" stereo jack currently) as I have a 2nd PC that will be an audio server that I just need IR control (receiving signal) no need for transmitting....let me know.

Found it, so you can use the previous post to find all you need to convert the dongle, then you can use the winlirc plugin and winlirc to use this new "LIRC" transmitter.
