As a side note, i'm trying to get ahold of Jay ( the guy who updated the TCPIP server ) but have been unsuccesfull so far. So I can update the TCP/IP server.

As long as you stick with the non-silent non-1-compatibilty mode operation things should work. .

I had to upgrade to Girder 3.023 since I wanted to use the DSCaler export file (great work !)

To my surprise, the old TCP client was no longer there, instead only TCP client 2. I had to change some 50 calls. That was kind of pain in the neck. The usage of the export file was impossible since the calling sequence had havily been changed: I won't ask for the reasons - but this is far from experience.

After doing the bitter work I was even more disappointed since the server of 3.023 didn't accept the client 2 calls (wrong password).

I copied the tcpip.dll from an old version software directory into 3.023 - and voila - I could use my old client sequences and 3.023 on the other PC accepted my IP calls.

When I look at the tcpip.dll in the hardware directory, it was created in Aug '01 while the client 2 was created in Dec '01. How does this fit together? Or is there something missing like tcpip2.dll ?

Sorry Ron - I could have used the "search" for my problem. Beginners's behaviour
