On the server computer I have Norton Personal Firewall installed, and even though I have allowed Girder access on all ports and even opened the HTTPS port as a general rule, but I still can't access from GPRS when the firewall is enabled. Disabling it, and I get in. Any ideas would be appreciated (preferably not involving running without the firewall full time, I'm to chicken for that...). It makes no difference if I set it to regular HTTP on port 80.

I have two separate networks in my house, one is 192.168.0 for purely internal stuff, and one is 192.168.1, where the Internet router is with a couple of directly connected Internet computers. The server I use for webserver is also the NAT for all those internal computers on the 0 network. I can access Girder's webserver from computers on the 1 series, it's only when I'm coming from outside of it all I am blocked.

Edit: I have tried to update to the latest version of NPF, but that doesn't help.

Disclaimer: NPF, I stopped using that thing a couple of years ago. It didn't work well enough for me.

Since you have 2 networks maybe you also need a second rule to open up the second network...

So what do you use? ZoneAlarm? And I have opened Girder on all network cards and IP series.

Outpost Pro. All firewalls have their drawbacks I have found.

Problem solved, after too much time spent testing! I need to learn to cut my losses sooner or later, but that will probably be later... Under general Options, Firewall (accessible from the toolbar in the main window) Norton has a checkbox for "Stealth blocked ports". Seems like it also stealths ports that are not in use at the moment, so turning off that enables me to connect to the webserver plug-in without any problems! :D That even solved the problem with my FTP-server!!!!
