Hi ! :)

It may be an idiot question but I wonder. why isn't there any visulaization (at least spectrum analyser) on all the CCF that I've seen, with mediabridge for example ?

It would be really cool to have a spectrum analyser like the one in winamp next to the cover on the PDA.

I thought of two possible reasons:

- power: "it would take too much power for our pda's": well all the latest pda's have decent CPU's and even 3D chips for some, and I'va seen wonderful light effects on my Dell x50v so that may not ne the reason...

- getting the visualization information from winamp: maybe it's not possible to get this information the way we get timer, title... But it seems possible according to this site: http://www.markuszehnder.ch/projects/lcdplugin/pictures.php

what do you think, would it be possible ?

It's really a question of network saturation. The LCD you referenced is connected directly to the machine where the visualization data is generated, whereas with netremote the info would have to be sent via the network, processed, and then displayed.

way too much data to be moving....

You mean it takes too much bandwith for a wifi connection to give just the information of the equalizer ? Is it not just something like "-22khz=20 -11khz=25 5khz=16..." to send 2 or three times per second ?

If you want visualisations do it properly. Get a large monitor, plasma or projector and install G-Force. Trying to do that sort of stuff on a PPC is pointless - a bit like trying to win an F1 race with a skoda.

Maybe he spent all his money on a PDA and cannot now afford a TV...

JLee is correct, totally pointless unless you have nothing better to do then stare at your PDA.

Let the good men finish making the current features stable and the integration with Girder solid before asking for things like "pretty lights" that serve no functional purpose.
