I'm looking for a control program (through wifi) for my pocket pc on the home network to control windows media center tv playback/music/other stuff.

I have my computer upstairs which hooks up via svideo (rigged together until the xbox360 extender comes out) to my projector in the basement, component L/R audio cables also go down there via a y cable for my 1/4" plug on the computer. (yea...its rigged together).
anyways, this means whatever shows up on the computer screen upstairs is duplicated on the projector, which works out OK, but I have no way of controlling the tv without running upstairs.

I also have the audio cables running to an amp which hooks up to speakers through out the house for audio cables.

in the wiki faq it says:

Is Microsoft Media Center Edition supported?

A:In some ways, yes, but full support is not yet complete.

could someone explain this a little?
I can play video files in media player/tv, dvds too, and control them, but will the remote work when the computer is in the windows media center interface (does it lag a lot?)

and is support planned so you can view recent recordings/record tv, or at least pause/play and FF on this remote?

thanks

Daniel

(by the way, I'm sure you guys are biased for the proximis soft), but for those with experience with other remote control pocket pc software, does it lag a lot/act very slow when you have a large library and it needs to read/show you lists of files? compared to other programs? i hear the niveus solution (which interacts directly with media CENTER), is very slow, anyone know about the rudeo version?

appreciate the feedback...

Hi Daniel -
We do have something in the works for much more comprehensive control which will greatly help you in your quest. We have one lingering bug that we're attempting to correct before putting this out for early adopters to try, however.

Ben, would LOVE to be included in that exclusive, gotta-have-the-invitation-in-yer-hand "early adopters" group when you're ready for 'em...

any word on a time frame?

in your tests, could you please do one with larger music collections to see if it still responds quickly etc...

count me in for the beta too :)
