So I got no bug reports for beta 14, looks like we are getting there!
Changes:
*integrated the ctinfra plugin into the UIR plugin
* Wrote getting started document
* Changed wm_user into register window message
* Added compatibility mode (TEMPORARY!)
* Changed init of device not to fail when 1 device isn't hooked up, view status of devices in settings window.
* Upgraded all plugins to send the new window messages.
* Added compatibility for old .gml files for mr. Windtrader :smile: (antirepeat settings was lost )
I'm going to go create a new download section that gets the Girder 3.1 plugins, so there is not so much confusion as to what plugin works where.

Steve, I've just tested the SlinkE over here and it is just fine? Did you change anything ? ( cause the plugin didn't except for the new message number )

I changed the registery position where the settings are saved. Could you compare the contents of
HKLM/Software/Girder3/Hardplugins/SlinkE
and
HKCU/Software/Girder3/Hardplugins/SlinkE

I'm not sure what happened here, lets keep an eye out for what went wrong here though. Glad it is solved at least :smile:

If the plugin is started for the first time, there will be one item in the list, the empty item. ( Right ?)
You should modify this and then start adding devices. Well thats the theory at least.
The reason for it being there,.. hmm. Thats a long time ago. I guess it was 'handy' if the list was always populated. Not sure though.

Without more details I cannot do anything. So please explain EXACTLY what you did.

You'll have to relearn your on every event.
Ron

Aaah sorry didn't get that, let me check.

Ah I see, I forgot to remove the old "on any event" menu item. It has moved now.
Use the dropdown box next to the "learn event" button and select "Girder event", press learn, now select any event from the drop down list.

Not at all your fault, I left the old menu in, how could you know ? :smile:

I just installed 3.1 beta 15 (using the installer download) and am getting "Error SLinkE AddDevice" error messages when Girder launches. Girder is set to Auto enable input devices--same thing happens when I <F9> to enable.
I've tried adding one slink-e device file at a time but it makes no difference if 0 or 5 devices are attached to the slink-e.
The Slink-e is sending and receiving IR just fine.
Anyone else seeing this?
BTW, SLinkE plugin is date stamped March 19, 2002, 11:35:18 AM.

Ron,
Nope, no changes since installing beta 12c.
I began seeing the errors the first time I ran Girder after installing beta 15. When I checked the SLinkE hardware plugin settings, I found that all of my Slinke devices were missing :sad:
I added the devices one by one and checked that they were working properly. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to eliminate the error. What's weird is that it's not indicating which device is at fault. I seem to remember previous versions of the SLinkE plugin indicating which device was causing the problem (??). IIRC, a second message box popped up after the "Error: SLinkE AddDevice" messagebox was dismissed??

Ron,
The only difference was the "Empty" device. I deleted it from the Girder hardware settings and all appears fine since :smile:. Did this need to be deleted in previous versions?
Thanks -- Steve

In thinking about this, Girder is behaving as it should be. The problem is that the "Empty" device points to an invalid file path:
"devname"="Empty"
"devfile"=""
Since the Slinke can't resolve the path and file name, it can't add the device.
Is there any reason the empty device needs to be there in the first place?

This may not be what you are looking for but ... :smile:
You could use the OSD PopUp plugin to set a bitmap in one of the screen corners. Just an idea. :smile:

Ok, just downloaded b15. Looking pretty good, especially the improved plugin management! :smile:
Just one thing I've noticed with most of the beta's so far. Not exactly a bug but...
If you try and paste when there is nothing to paste a messagebox appears: 'parser error'. It would be much better if: either the message says 'nothing to paste' or pasting is disabled if there is nothing to paste.

I'm encountering a bug with a command that worked in earlier versions of Girder. My command that makes BSPlayer (a video player) full screen now puts Girder in the foreground whenever I use it, and I'm not sure why.

Ron,
Wow. I'm so honored, a fix named after me. I don't it now since I can retype them in manually so fast after much practice. :smile:
Thanks,
Don

Freedom,
If you had anti repeat wait times before, you may have lost them. Check the eventstring and look for the correct value. I had to put these manually as I upgraded. They should be stable now.

Hi Ron, another post from me :smile:
I have found a bug or something in 3.1 beta 15. I can't seem to get the Antirepeat to work with MultiGroups, Works fine in 3.0.25..
Nothing imoportant..
I wonder if you could set an icon in a corner on the sreen which shows what groups that is currently availible, currently I use "say" to inform me of that(When i switch groups). Instead of say it could change Icon. :grin:
Thanks for a super program!
PS(Have been using it for a couple of years now)

I just downloaded beta15, but my old .GML didn't work OK.
Seems like "On Every Event" in the XML-file should now be called "On Any Event". Strangely the program still writes "On Every Event" in its files though, which makes the "On Every/Any Event" function just not work.... Guess this is a bug, or?

Yeah, but thats the thing that doesn't work.
Beta15 seems to Write "On Every Event" to the file but only understand "On Any Event" when reading a file.
What I'm trying to say is that generating a file from scratch in beta15 has the same problem. At least for me it does.... Fixing the files are easy, just replacing "Every" with "Any" in notepad. But relearning in girder doesn't work, that's the bug!

OK I see...
Guess it was my fault for using the old way then.
Anyway, thanks for a great program!
