Yeah use the checkreg action, this only works on number registers though.
* Select the first register from the drop down box.
* choose an operator ( ==, <=, >=, <, >, <> )
* choose the second register or number
* choose the first command ( when true )
* choose the second command ( when false )
Example
Register : 1
Icon/Device : == 0
Assign 2 command, and test.
( btw i just noticed that the <> operator doesn't quite work, the rest is fine though )
I will be writing a getting started about the registers as well, but not right now :wink:

Have you looked at this page:
http://www.girder.nl/help/girderhelp/actn_girder.php
It gives a brief explanation of how to use Check Reg - I didn't know how it worked until I asked! -hence why I thought it would be a good idea to improve the documentation.
BTW, if you're not happy with the page explaining registers please feel free to suggest improvements to make it clearer - I put that page together very quickly anyway, and I'd love to make it easier to understand!

The online help is far from complete at the moment - in fact with the conversion to G3.1 quite a bit of it is out of date anyway.
I'm intending to write some more/update whats there shortly, and then I'm sure it could be included offline if people wanted.

Just a question, Can the online help be converted to a off-line downloadable version as well? it would help to have the things not included in the helpfile handy for those with connection limitations (like me!!) :smile:

I'm new. Show mercy!
On Girder registers - I have found only a brief few sentences on registers and how they are used. Would appreciate someone pointing me to a complete description.

thanks - yes, I read that and looked at the gir file before posting. That explanation is some 6 sentences and leads you to the gir file which is way too detailed for a newbie. I find no mention of registers in the manual.
I get the gist of how you can store text and integers in registers using commands. I see how you can retrieve text in pop-ups.
I don't see how you can do a conditional goto using registers. That is, the CHECK action in registers isn't explained.
Hey, it's freeware! I know. But it's the fruit of hard and good work.
(I'm building an IR remote to cause my home automation PC to control what web pages from my own and public servers are displayed on my TVs via a VGA to video adapter box. )
