B9 won't let me exit through the menu. I need to kill it with the task manager.

Ok, I see now that it's only after I enable the USB-UIRT plugin that this happens.

Sorry to keep you waiting Mike! I can see that you're anxious for a response.
It is reproducible and is keeping me from using the USB-UIRT plugin. Everytime I check it off in settings Girder freezes and will not exit.

If you use the plug-in, is there any reason to disable it while running Girder?

I cannot enable the plugin at all, Mastiff.
Don't you have a USB-UIRT? Have you been able to use it with the new Beta?

To be honest I haven't had time to do an upgrade to this beta, and I probably wont until tomorrow. I have the USB-UIRT on the server, and before I do any changes on that computer I do a full image. I'll see if I can find time to do it later today and then tell you what happens.

I've heard that Girder is worse than heroin. I think I'll have to check myself into rehab soon.

With these quick replies to threads.... it makes me wonder if we don't need a chat room setup.... might be cool to converse realtime...

umm irc?

That would be cool, but then we would not be able to refer to responses for support later on. I suppose if we were to post threads with transcripts of important discussions afterwards it might be good?

Actually there is a home automation chat room setup by Cocoontech already. We could start by using that.
irc.marstracker.com
Room is #cocoon
I hang out there all the time. Its run by Electron (etron here) and there as quite a few regulars.

I apologize sorry for getting back on topic... Your observations are correct. B9 does not work at all with the USB-UIRT. So it had a rather short carreer on my Server computer! Ron?

Me too. and I use Excursion with it. Anyway, the server is refusing my connection. Maybe my provider has too many spammers or something.
Has anyone else tried using the USB-UIRT with B9? We have two so far that have experienced a total lockup, including myself...

Thanks! Also, there's no configure page anymore for comserver. Is that by design, or have you just hidden it somewhere else?

I use the USB-UIRT with G4, but hadn't upgraded to B9 'cuz I was scared. When you think it's fixed, tho....I'll test it....

I loaded the Ocelot plugin and played a bit, but now G4 won't exit either!!

Man I am still running B7 and only use the GlobalCache Plugin and FireFly plugin. Since I only have a production machine - I am a little bit scarred to upgrade. My wife only last night admitted that the HTPC was really cool and she was ok in retrospect with the amount of time I had spent on it.
I would hate to undo all those good vibes with and upgrade. SO B7 is here to stay a little longer.
Good luck with the B9 stuff.
P.S. I will be buying a new system in Novemeber (early Xmas Present for myself) and will then be happy to do testing as I will have a test box (finally).

Well you can always 'mirror' the hard drive using Ghost before upgrading so if it doesn't work out you can get back to where you were in less than 20 minutes.

Which is what I always do, except for that I use PowerQuest Drive Image 2002. The reason for that is so everything can be administrated from windows, you don't have to start up with a special CD like Ghost.
