In the other thread i saw that you had an UIR, ( if you would have said that here, I could have helped you earlier  )
If the UIR sends garbage only with that remote changing settings will not help. The UIR only works for a specific set of protocols. This set though covers most of the available remotes, sadly your nokia remote wasn't one of them.

a tip,.. oh my. I just use the remote that came with my Pioneer receiver. It has tons of presets and I can program it to 9 or so devices, so I'm happy with that. So just look around the house to find something suitable, the UIR will recognise mostly anything.

Hi I have tested Nokia's Media Masters remote. But I could not get it to work with Girder/Irman. I Logged the Ir Events, it seems like it sends diffrent codes every time you press a key, and meny codes for each key. And it sends the same inital code for more than one key. I did not find a pattern in the ir-codes so I returned the remote. Just a pity, to let such a versatile remote go to waist.. And it only kosts about 50$ US

Thanks for your swift reply!
What kind of device should i use to get
useable IR-code? Just curious, really liked the feel of that remote robust and it gave a huge impression of quality! ;o)
I don't really like the remotes with touchscreens the get smeared and stains appear quick.
Do you have a tip, that could help me
