I'm discovering a very odd and frustrating problem...I'll record an IR code to be transmitted to my dvd player...i copy and paste this same command to create dozens of identical commands all transmitting the same code...except that some will randomly not work. Other times itll work fine for weeks and then all of a sudden some commands dont work. They're all sending the identical code, but some seem to randomly "mutate" and not work...
've now run into the problem that I'll record an IR code to send out, I'll send it once, it'll work fine, ill send it twice, nothing happens. It sends the same code in both instances, except after the first success all others fail. Any one have any thoughts?

Ask Jon at www.usbuirt.com and see if he has any ideas.

which DVD player is this? It's not a Kiss one is it?
Some devices use two different codes on each key and alternate between them - could this be what is happening here?

Hi, ive posted the same question at USB-UIRT...nothing has solved the problem so far...I have a pioneer dv-f727 dvd player...The remote does have two command codes per button but thats not the problem...
...well not until yesterday...it randomly changed its code last night and caused me to have to spend an hour updating the codes and now, although i have an antirepeat of zero, the events are being sent out reeeallly slowly...nothing has changed accept the remote codes (which i cant explain either) and has made navigating menus terrible. Any thoughts on why this is happening?
...but back on topic...the original problem doesn't seem to be caused by the remote or dvd player...its either a problem with girder randomly deciding to sending a code correctly once and then never again or a problem with my usb-uirt...when it sends out the code, the uirt blinks, so i know it is sending something...i just cannot figure out why the "ON/OFF" code for my dvd player works in one girder group but not in another...they're both identical because they were copy and pasted from the same original group...and whats more, why did it work fine a few weeks ago and then randomly get this problem?
A penny for your thoughts/suggestions for the many bumps in the road i've hit.

The only other thing I can think of is that you have a strong IR source that's overpowering the one from the USB-UIRT. Try moving the USB-UIRT closer to the DVD player (preferably really close) to see if that fixes it. I've certainly had a similar problem when I'd left something on top of a remote control and one of its buttons was being held down.

Thanks for the thought Rah99,
I've wired a blaster directly to the DVD player so its no more than a fraction of an inch away from the receiver...in closed wooden cabinet.
Unfortunatly, I don't think it is an interferance problem. *Sigh*
