Cant learn codes from a DISH network remote??? why

I have a DISH network remote, and I am trying to learn its codes on another remote control (a Home theater master MX 500). I wanted to get the codes working in the MX 500, before I try to talk to it using Netremote. Figured it should be easy.

I have programmed 9 other remotes into the MX 500 so I know if works. But for some reason the DISH network remote wont seem to sned its codes to the MX 500

Anyone have any ideas about why a remote control wouldnt work to teach another remote?

What model receiver are you trying to control? If it is a UHF unit (DP811, 911, 942, 522, 322, 510, 508...) you need to use the menu to change the remote and receiver to IR blast mode. If you have a remote from another receiver try it.
