I've got an IR code that works on my Pronto, but that Designer reports as invalid:

900A 006D 0000 0001 16E9 01FE

This is for a Xantech router that routes IR codes according to IR commands that you send it. I got the IR code from RemoteCentral a while back, and I've been using it successfully on my TSU-7000. I'm phasing out the Pronto in favor of NR, but I need to get this working...

Any advice?

Many Thanks,
Tim

This is one of the later Prontos right? ie one with a built in IR code database.

Can you try learning from the Pronto?

Correct; it's the ProntoProNG. I found a few more codes in a similar format that don't work:

These are for my projector (Infocus Screenplay7200):

Menu - 900A 006D 0000 0001 874E 02FD
Aspect Ratio - 900A 006D 0000 0001 874E 34CB

I suspect there are number more that are lurking in my CCF.

I just captured a few of the offending codes in my PDA... I've had bad luck in the past learning on one device, and then transmitting on another (I'm using a GlobalCache to transmit). There might be a tool to convert from GC to CCF format so I could learn on the GlobalCache... I'll have to dig around.

Any chance NR could be extended to support IR codes that start with 900A?

What do you mean with learning with the GC?
If you have a GC-IRL, then with the provided software, you can learn a Pronto RAW format code.
With GC-IRE, I'm not sure but it might be that the format is the same. Otherwise, let me konw and I'll look around in some old test projects, I think I had made some conversion routine for that format.

Otherwise, FYI, 900A indicates a code in NEC format.
There is some documentation around on the net that explains how this can be converted to RAW format, but I don't know of any tool doing it.

Eric.

Ah; I hadn't had occasion to explore the GC software, so I thought it used its own format. In any event, learning from the Pronto into NR on my PDA, transfering the CCF to my PC, and then pasting into Designer did the trick. A bit round-about, but at least I'm up and running.

Might be worth considering support for NEC codes in Designer/NR down the road to save others from a similar plight.

Cheers,
Tim
