DVP-CX985V DVD Jukebox and Girder

I am brand new to girder and need some help.

Question 1: Does anybody have a GML or does a plugin exist to control the Sony DVP-CX985V 400 disk DVD changer via IR.? I am planning to use an IR reciever/blaster and Logitech Harmony 880 or Windows MCE Remote. If I can get the control part working I plan to use Mainlobby and DVDlobby as a front end.

Question2: How do you setup girder to send an IR command to some piece of equipment ex TV. Is this built in functionality or does a plugin normally take care of this?

Hi,

You will need too add a piece of hardware for ir send/receive... something like the usbuirt. I see no reason why it could not control the sony changer.

For a front end, also have a look at NetRemote.

For the second question I was more refering to how to setup the functionality inside girder itself, or is it done via the plugin for the usbuirt for example. I have a MCE IR Blaster/reciever, but cannot find a place either in girder ( Sometimes I am kinda blind to the obvious) or in the plugin to send IR out in response to an incoming IR signal.

there is an mce plugin that will use the blaster. i have not used it. you will have to add a command from the plugins in tab on the bottom right hand corner of girder

If I understand you correctly, this means that the plugin for the specific piece of hardware has to support this.

Yes, you need a plugin for whatever hardware device you are using.

Did you ever get it working? I have 2 Sony cx985 changers and I want to get them working via G3 and usbuirt.
