I have scanned these forums and have found some info on USB-uirt to send the signals to my IR devices but it seems there are problems. So basically before I buy net remote or uirt can somebody recommend the best way to get ir commands to my equipment via a PC?

if you are line of site the use direct ir with a dell axim

otherwise, if you a computer that is always on, then use the usbuirt.

lastly, the GC device.

I have an ipaq 6340 so net remote hasn't got an IR driver for that. The usbuirt looks the best option but there seems to be a lot of issues with this on your forum.

I've not had a single problem with the USB-UIRT in 2 years of using it.

I have had a few problems, but they're all eradicated now, with later versions of NetRemote. Believe me, you can probably not make a more complicated setup than I'm using it in! I have IR emitter cables going from the USB-UIRT and to three different rooms, with probably 10 emitters lal in all, and in addition to that I have a bunch of wireless IR extenders sending the signal from the USB-UIRT to equipment and sending the signals from remotes to the USB-UIRT. And it works 100 % when I don't experiment (with new betas and stuff - the server is usually the last computer that sees a new beta of anything...). I can recommend it fully!
