Hello,

I am trying to evaluate NetRemote on an X51v. I downloaded IR+Pro. I picked IR+Pro instead of IR because it says it adds editing/customization features. I have two questions:

1) Every time I turn on the PDA, NetRemote starts up, and I get a Windows Mobile exception with it, asking me to send the data to MS. Why is this? I did a "normal" install, I believe, and I think I selected MediaBridge to iTunes, although I have no idea how to use that (I really just am looking for an IR remote program).

2) I would prefer not to have to learn all the IR codes from my remotes. I looked through FAQs, posts, etc., and I'm still lost. What I'd like to find is a CCF with a database of IR codes already in it. Does this exist, or is it even possible? I'd like to just go through, say, Sony TVs until I find one that works. I looked at RemoteCentral, but I am not sure what I would need from there.

I am new to IR remotes on PDA, so I'd just like to start out simple for now.

Thank you.

Hi, and welcome!

1. Look at the options, there will be an option to restart NetRemote on every resume. That may have gone haywire. I have seen it on a couple of occasions.

2. You can download Pronto or Pronto Pro CCFs from Remote Central and open them in a Pronto editor (like Tonto). Then you simply open for instance the power on/off button in the CCF, open the IR code and copy that. Create an IR button in the NetRemote designer, paste the code you copied, and you should be done.
