Have you looked here? I was able to get a WinAmp to launch and play music from the instructions listed below. Please read the instructions very carefully since missing one step could make the whole thing not work:

Okay, I cannot for the life of me figure this out. Obviously there must be many gurus out there, and I turn to you for advice.
I am using one of those Packard bell fast media remotes. For years, it has been extremely useful in Win 98 but i recently upgraded to Win xp and amongst other Xp-related problems, the drivers for my remote no longer work. So i have d/led this program, and successfully made it listen to my IR signal using the Igor thing (?). Anyway, when I furiously punch buttons on my remote, the the light in the prog turns yellow whenever i push a button which i would gather to believe means that its accepted a signal, yes-no? on the assumption that this is true, how the heck do i get this to work correctly? I tried the demo one in the help file to start notepad, except nothing happens. I also tried to program the directional pad to, but it will only go in one direction...
help? thanks....
