Hi I have a HTC Wizard (Qtek 9100) that I use with wlan on my home network. I have installed the trial software of NetRemote Pro but have multiple problems.
My problems (other then the fact that Im a big newbie :o ):
1. I dont get any music information when I go to "Listen To Music". I manage to stop, start, next, prev etc, but get no info about the song playing. I dont get any info in Queue or Library either. This works fine when I connect the HTC Wizard to the computer with USB cabel but doesnt work with wlan. I have tryed with both winamp and JRMC
2. When I start up NetRemote I get some error messages I would like to get rid of :-)
The header of the first message say "CPU mismatch". The second message say "IR-Plugin: Unsuprted CPU..."
I havnt tryed using the rest of the functions yet since I wanted to fix these problems first.
Thanks.

For #2, try removing the IRHardware.dll file in the NetRemote directory.
For #1, try disabling "Use Ping To Check State" in MediaBridge (on the PC), and verify that no firewalls are causing problems (try disabling them -completely- and trying).

Thanks #2 is now fixed after I renamed the irhardware file. Was this the problem since it is not possible to use IR on my PPC?
Nr #1 is stil a problem. I have earlier tryed to turn of my Norton Internt Security and the firewall in the wireless router. I makes no difference. I also tryed to disable the Use Ping To Check State, that didnt help either.
The PPC is on the list over current clients.
As I said the play, stop buttons etc works fine. I noticed one more ting, under Main tab the play button is allways showed as a play button no mather if music are playing or not. When I connected with USB I noticed that the button switch to pause button when music was playing, this does not happend over wlan. It seems the PPC manage to communicate to the PC but not the other way around...
Did I mentioned this uses wm5? Not sure if that have anything to do with it or not.

Can you check in your plugin properties and see if you have more than one instance of the MediaBridge plugin?

Only one instance that have -10 as id. I have earlier tryed to delete that instance and add it again. I have also tryed to use diffrent port then 20003 both on the media bridge and on the PPC but that didnt work.

What media player are you using?
Can you browse the library using your player without problems?

Ad mentioned in the first post I have tryed both winamp and JRMC. I can browse the library without problems in the player. I can also see the library if I use netremote on the same machina that uses mediabridge or if I connect my PPC to the computer with USB. The only problem is when using the PPC over wlan. Then I cant browse library, queue etc. Not get any info from the computer at all.

Ja.

Wouldnt think the wireless acces point is the problem since the firewall on that on is only between the internal nettwork and the internet. But I have already tryed to add the IP on the PPC as DMZ and that didnt help :-?

Did you check NAT to see what would happen if you added a NAT route to the server? It shouldn't be necessary, no, but this seems rather difficult to track down, and I still think it's the AP. What kind of an AP is that? I have had problems with Belkin models.

The AP I D-LINK 624+. Ill try to add NAT access tomorrow and tell you how it worked.

Oooops... That's the worst AP I've ever had, by far! I gave one away... It didn't create NetRemote problems, but stability and range was tragic. The one without the + is OK (I have two of the latest model of that one, and it they work as they should), but the 624+ is a lemon in every way. Do you have the latest firmware for it, btw? Sometimes strange problems can be solved with those firmware upgrades. Maybe you could borrow an AP from somebody to test with? That would be a very sure way to eliminate or confirm that this is the source.

I have updated the firmware earlier after I had some stability problems on my Internet connection. But later I found out the problem was my ISP not the AP. So the AP have actually worked very well for me. I can check to see if there is a newer firmware out for the AP later today.
I can also try to see if I manage to connect my PPC ad-hoc directly to my laptop without any AP, too see if that works. That way I will atleast find out if it is the AP that couses the problem.

I hate to tell you this, but not necessarily! I have never had a stable system with ad hoc wireless. But still it's worth a shot. If you can do it that way, the AP or something else between the PPC and the laptop has to be the culprit.

Ok done some more research. I tryed opening up the AP on the correct ports but as aspected that didnt help since that only helps when connecting to the internet. I also tryed to disable my norton internet security completly in my msconfig to make sure that program didnt couse any problems. That didnt help either. I also tryed using Windows Media Player just in case I had problems with the two other players I had (yeah I know a real long shot hehe)... and that didnt help anything.
This was all on my main stationary computer. Then I tryed to install net remote on my laptop to try and set it up ad-hoc without AP. But before I tryed that I had my laptop connected to my AP with cable to get a simalar setup as my stationary computer.... and that worked exelent the first time I tryed...!! Atleast I know there is no problem with the AP... but I still ned to get it to work with my stationary computer... lol.
- Yes my windows firewall is turned of (and all other firewalls)
- Yes my two computer are open for file sharing and can see each other on the network.
- Yes I have tryed with both the computer name and the IP
- Yes I have tryed to use a diffrent port.
- Yes I have tryed 3 diffrent music programs
- No I'm not a complete idiot hehe :D
Any sugestions now... ?
