Hi all, I'm just new to this forum, as well as the whole "remote control" idea. I want to find out a way of remote-conrolling my PC. That includes applications such as PowerDVD, winamp, media player and so on. I don't think I can build a UIR on my own, as I will have to program the PIC chip myself and therefore I'm thinking of either buying an IR receiver (such as IRman) or ---since the extra cost would not be that much--- a TV Tuner card that includes a remote. Will I be able to use it for what I want, too? (using Girder I guess). Can I use an IrDA port to receive signals from a remote control? I mean the ones to use for data transfer ( for mobile phones, cordless printers etc.) The Tuner cards I'm thinking about are Pinnacle PCTV or a Hauppage model or maybe LifeView. I thank you all in advance...
