Hi Ben,

When will it be possible to have multiple states for buttons?

also while I am here!

What about more templates when can we have that, the standard 3 are too limiting!?

:P  :-?

When the new CCF format is supported I'd bet.

Well I have requested Ben to add new templates that would be drawn over the top of the pages. This would allow you to create pop up panels for things like Caller ID boxes and Lighting control panels that would popup no matter what page you were on. This would be invaluable for home automation users.

Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Either that or being able to overlay any controls from one page on top of another.

Certainly some form of layering mechanism would be very welcome.

Hi folks -
The next version of NetRemote supports "template overlays". This is something on one of the templates which will always be on top of a page.

This is supported without changing the file format.

Once the file format changes, Rob is right, we'll support more templates.

Thanks!

When the file format changes are you going to have a conversion tool?

The designer will be able to open the old format still. Is that sufficient, or will you need something else (for mass conversion)?

will it be just a case of open the old format and "save as" the new format?

Yes, something like that.

Hi folks -
The next version of NetRemote supports "template overlays". This is something on one of the templates which will always be on top of a page.
One problem I have is when a drop-down menu resides above (y-axis) other buttons on a ccf page. Even though the drop-down menu is closed, it covers up the buttons below so that I can't click them. Will template overlays resolve this? i.e. will there be selectable overlay areas that are "always on top"? Or, in the case of a drop-down menu, "selectively" on top?

Hi dsmes - Yes, the template overlays should resolve this issue.

Ben did this ever get put into the new version. I am going to be starting Now Playing 2007 and would like to incorportate the 'always on top' template idea for my caller id and light control panels. This would save a hug amunt of memory and speed things up I believe. I am not ready to replace my Fujitsu 3400's quite yet.

On another note I am also looking to slide panels that contain things like the MJList as well as other frames. The last time I tried this for my Crystal Blue skin it did not work. I am hoping some of these issues were fixed/added to the new version (crossing my fingers).

Frames that slide in should work 100%.

Always on top should also always work. Ensure that the backgrounds are 100% opaque and that they are "stated" frames to ensure they're always on top of lists, trees, web browsers, and things like that.
