Are you 100% sure that you:
* Have the right com port
* The redrat is operating, test with the redrat tools
* No other devices is using the comport/redat

I've done some work on the next release. That might solve that problem. But it is obiviously not a problem at the moment, you'll need the reset after the redrat has been disabled for a _long_ time. The eeprom tends too loose its settings.

Redrat driver has been included with Girder 3.1.1 since the first release. You can try Girder 3.1.1 without loosing Girder 3.0.x.

I downloaded the Redrat2 plugin and put it in the Hardware plugin folder. In the "Settings" window I can configure it as a "Hardware plugin" and also an "Action Plugin", but when I hit the "Reset EEProm to default values" button I get an error. The error says "Thread did not exit". At this point Girder freezes up and I get a "This program is not responding" message before Girder closes. Any ideas what's wrong?
When I try to set up a command using the Redrat2 plugin, the Redrat2 window comes up but doesn't seem to respond.
I'm running Windows 2000 and Girder Version 3.0.24 with the Redrat2 plugged into my Com2 port.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James

Okay, I'm an idiot. I was trying to use the Redrat2 without an external power supply. So, now I have the Redrat2 working. The Redrat2 plugin seems to work fine.
However, I still get the "Thread did not exit" error when I use the "Reset EEPROM to default" button. The Redrat2 seems to function fine with the Girder plugin, maybe I shouldn't worry about it.
Thanks,
James

Any idea how soon before a Redrat2 plugin will be available for Girder 3.1.1? The Redrat2 is becoming an important part of my setup and I'm considering waiting for the new plugin before I start working with the newest version of Girder. Or should I take the plunge and start using 3.1.1 now?
Thanks,
James
