Disable all other programs, including every single other plugin and try again. Every single program that is running on your computer has the ability to prevent the APM event, so first check where the problem is.

I tested the APM plugin here and it works for me. Sorry, nothing I can do about it. Install the old girder and check if that one still works. Just to see if there is nothing else wrong.

Do me a favour, open girder 3.1 completely enable it and try to get the machine to go into standby mode by using the windows start menu. See if girder is blocking this.

Lets summarise,
* Girder isn't preventing it.
* The plugin is exactly the same as used in Girder 3.0
One last thing to check;
I've added an extra check to see if the function reports success, so download this and check the Girder status bar too see what it says. Be sure to also check that you are using version 1.3.

Me again :wink: .
Just recently discovered the advantage of StR to speed up (or better avoid) booting :smile: . I've used the APM plug-in for that with Girder 3.0 which worked fine. However it doesn't seem to work with 3.1 nor can I find an alternative command.
Any suggestions ?
Thx,

Installed the new version, but Suspend to Ram (APM plug in) still doesn't work. Is there another way to do it? Can I give an option in the shutdown command?

StR does work when executed via the Windows start bar (So there seem to be no programs preventing it).
I removed all plug ins (hardware and action) with exception of the APM plug in and executed the command manually. However still no StR. (also made a new .GML file with only the StR command).
Girder does show at the bottom 'Power state set', but that's (unfortunately for me) all it does ;( .

:wink: nobody knows....
agree.
used mouse (click) to test the command, but also (with UIR receiver enabled) IR commands. They seem to start, but just don't 'execute' the required function.
Strange thing (for me) is it works 100% with 3.0.

Girder 3.0: Standby immediately
Girder 3.1: no Standby
Same machine, no changes.
This is such a typical problem where it does work at your side, but not with me ;( .
Maybe somebody else can confirm that it does work with W2k and Girder 3.1

Opened Girder 3.1 (All plug-ins enabled). Pressed Standby -> no response (except that I can see power state set in the lower left corner of Girder, then followed by antirepeat). Then used Start/Shutdown/Standby worked immediately. So Girder isn't preventing it.

Ron,
thx. Somehow I was using an older APM plug in (from 2000) ;-( . Don't know where it came from, since I tried to use all the latest drivers but couldn't find an APM module anymore on the download site. (Thought I copied it from 3.0, but apparently not).
Replaced it with a version from Sept 2001 and now it works perfect. Sorry for any inconvenience, I owe you another bear :wink: .

wrong answer :smile: .
La Chouffe is the kind of beer, 'Krugel' is an Austrian expression for large beer (0.5 Ltr).
So probably you meant 'La Chouffe Krugel' :wink: .

Wykat, how do you test your command?
If you do it by F5 then it probably won't work because I think windows receives the keypress message after the Girder command has executed and so prevents the StR.
I got this problem with Monitor OFF function.
When I learned the IR event everything worked fine.
This probably isn't your problem but ...... nobody knows
:smile:
good luck
