Hello,

1) Just installed NetRemote Pro + IR on my iPAQ 2790 running WM5.0, each time I startup netremote it complains about not being able to open consumer IR port CIR1: device as follows:

>>>
Can't create Comsumer IR device CIR1:
File CIR.DLL is missing. Please reinstall the Consumer IR package.
You find this at www.WinCESoft.de
<<<

When I look at this site, there's no such file !!!

2) Configured the IR port in 'Direct' mode and used auto detect (selects COM2), transmit priority set to 3, 'Beep' and 'Send at button release' enabled.

But still I'm unable to control my TV (JVC 28" model).

3) So I try to learn some codes from my RC by going to learn mode but this doesn't work neither!!! what am I doing wrong???

Help !

What other software do you have installed on your PPC?

Hi Ben,

On top of the off-the-shelf configuration I added:

- the iPaq tumb keyboard
- Opera 8.5 browser.

The IrDa port should work as I tried to sync over it with my portable PC, at that point the iPaq was able to detect my PC.

you need to turn off any other programs (like activesync) that use the IR port.

Mike,

Double checked that ALL other apps are stopped, then tried NR Pro+Ir again, but each time I start NR with the IR plugin configured in direct mode I get this error:

>>>
Can't create Consumer IR device CIR1:
File CIR.DLL is missing.
Please reinstall the Consumer IR package.
You find this at www.WinCESoft.de

...

Can't open consumer IR port CIR1:
<<<

Though if I check the Windows directory on my iPAQ, then I find CIR.dll to be present !?

Mike,

Checked Beam, damn it was enabled to receive all incoming beams.

So turned it off, made sure all apps were killed and softreset my iPAQ and now it is working !!!!!!! thanks for the support.
