Ok... first of all, I am from Argentina, so if my english isn't very good, i'm sorry.

I have recently bought a generic IR sensor (or I guess so). Its a simple sensor that connects through the serial port and get any sign from any remote control (a TV remote control, a DVD, etc)
This came with Girder3.3.8 and a little plugin for the sensor (IR-Master.dll).
In G3 it works perfect.

The problem is when I installed G4... I cannot get the sensor working...
If I try to load the plugin that I used on G3, the program freezees and then crashes.
I attach an image showing the plugin in G3...

Really Im a newbie on this... I dont understand what IR is, and what the other remote controls plugins are...

So... anybody can help me? Pleaseeeee

Thanks a lot

Edit: I also attach the plugin...

is the reciever plugged into your serial port? if so then a fairly simple lua script should get you started, more details of the sensor would help

I cant tell more details of the sensor, because I dont know anymore...

Well.... nevermind. I'll still use G3

Hi,

sounds like you can also use a newer version of the plugin which is better known as "Igorplug", it's been updated so it now works with Girder4.

Igorplug 1.15: http://www.cesko.host.sk/downloads/IgorPlug.zip
IgorplugXP 4.05: http://www.cesko.host.sk/downloads/IgorPlugXP.zip

hope this helps

Jeje, Im a noob.... I googled everything but "IgorPlug"...

Here it is:
http://www.cesko.host.sk/girderplugin.htm

I installed the plugin, loaded, perfect.
But G4 is not recognizing the signals.... I think its because of this: "v3.00- USB and COM plugin with improved serial port version under WinXP (serial port is for WinXP only), Attention! serial port schematic was slightly changed : added connection between TxD and DCD - pins 1 and 3 (see included schematic in plugin config)" (quote from the changelog)

So... I am fucked up =(... The plugin that is compatible with G4 needs other serial port schematic... It says that is only a connection between pin 1 and 3. But I have no idea how to do this.

Well, thank you anyway =)

Hi,

You probably don't need the XP version anyway, so use the other one.

In the Igorplug settings, make sure you selected the right COM port and select DCD in the "input signal" options.

post a screenshot of what the logger shows then.

hope this helps
