That can be done. I'll see if i can make you an exported group that demonstrates this. But is this really that functional? I really hate typing and SMS message on my GSM.

Let me see if i got it right ...

key | presses | Girder generates
1 | 1 | space
2 | 1 | a
2 | 2 | b
2 | 3 | c
3 | 1 | d
3 | 2 | e
3 | 3 | f

etc...

Hello,

I've been using Girder with my irman for a short period now, and have tried to figure this out but couldn't.

Is there any way (using states maybe?) to use the remote numbers to output letters like a Nokia keypad?

I would like that so I could use the "J" feature on winamp, so I could type a music to search.

Thanks in advance!

That's exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks!!

Actually, i'm pretty fast typing on nokias.. :) Anyway, I just want this to use the J functionality on wianmp, so a few letters (5 or 6?) will be enough to narrow the search so I can select the song I want.

I'm expecting the group anxiously. :)
Thank you again.

Did this ever get done? I'd find it useful as well if it's available.

Thanks,

Happy Thanksgiving to all first of all!

Hi I stumbled on this old post while trying to figure out why when I use the MCE skin on NetRemote 2 the keypad #'s don't work as advertised. While in the Mymovies application in Media Center there is a place to search for Trailers and you have to use the numbers keypad but when I try that I only get the numbers. Multiple presses doesn't generate the letters. The link posted here at the end is no longer good so I'm not sure where I need to be looking now.
