View Full Version : A couple of MediaBridge questions

A couple of questions on the best way to do some stuff ....

1) Will MediaBridge start OK if I take it out of the "Run" registry and start it from a startup action from Girder?

The reason is that I need to ensure that JRMC has the correct system default audio card on startup, as that is the output used for Real (e.g. BBC) streaming. Apparently JRMC won't (can't) use its own internal output mode & device settings for Real streams. So I thought Girder can set the wave device before running MB, which will in turn start JRMC.

I'll need to rember to patch this every time I install a new version though. :(

2) Can I instruct MB to play a physical CD in a drive (through JRMC) in any obvious way? Or should I indirectly get Girder to run MC11?

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian -
Yes, it should start fine by Girder.

There isn't an easy way to play a CD, so Girder is the best route, for now.

Thanks,

That's saved me some tedious trial and error

Brain- Just in case you didn't know, to play a CD from Girder use the OS Execute tab to execute MC11.exe with a step size of:

/Play DEVICE=F:

Obviously change the drive letter to suit.

Thanks jlee.

That's how I have been doing it from the pre-MB days. But I just wondered if MB had a more direct way nowadays. It's working fine via Girder.
