Total noob needing some help

Hello, after doing some searching I came across this site, and I think that I need the USB UIRT?

Here's what I have, I have an Internal Hauppauge PVR 350 card and the only software that I'm using right now is WinTV 2000.

What I'd like to beable to do is, if I want to program my scheduler to record a show on a certain channel, I need the PC or software to tell the cable box to change to that channel.

What do I need to do?

I am not familiar with the wintv software, but if it has a way to tell Girder what channel to change to, then Girder and the USBUIRT will be able to do this.
