ATTACHED is my CCF that I can not get the IR's to work. Iyou will look at the TV & SAT Menu and the TV ON / OFF button and the action, you will see the IR that I LEARNED from my Samsung LCD TV. I can learn the IR's but can nit transmit them

I have a samsung dlp tv, and have similar 'flaky' problems. Only with the samsung though- My directivo works fine.
I'm using a usb-uirt as well.
I have managed to get things to work a bit better by using Girder to transmit the IR signals instead of NR- But it's still not 100%. It's still hit and miss.
However, if I use NR to store / transmit the IR it almost never works.
Sometimes the IR is sent correctly and the TV responds, sometimes the IR is sent and the TV doesn't respond. I have an emitter stuck right on the front of the TV IR window. These same codes on my samsung OEM remote and on my Theatermaster MX-700 universal remote work 100% of the time like clockwork.
I think this has something to do with the usb-uirt not liking the samsung IR codes. I've spent many house mucking around with it and the various settings in the UIRT, but something is definitely buggy.

Thanks for the info. I can not get any IR to work on a Samsung LCD TV, RCA HD DirecTv reciever and a Sony Home Theater. I can use each of the orginal remotes and can learn the IR's but can not transmit any of them, I can not find any way to change the settings on my USB-UIRT. I am about to the point of giving up.

heh- i know the feeling.
Create a GML in girder (are you using girder?) and learn your IR codes directly into Girder as actions by dragging a 'send IR' action from the USB-UIRT folder in the action tree on the left.
Then call on the actions from NR.
In Girder there are settings that you can muck around with for each IR action that uses the UIRT.
Attached is my GML for samsung HLN-56w DLP tv. Should work for all DLP's that support discrete codes.
Open this GML in Girder and poke through what I have set up. It's still flaky but not as bad as doing straight from NR.
When you set up the action in NR make sure you specify it multiple times (for example, use action POWER ON like 3 or 4 times in each action button so NR sends a repeated command)

I fully understand Jerry- I was green as hell just a couple of months ago.
Now I'm still a bit green but have managed to learn a few things.
Girder and NR are awesome sytems but there is a definite learning curve.
Stick with it and you will be happy :) You can learn a lot by searching through the forums for various topics like 'create GML'
