:( I have a Creative Infra 1800 with remote control and contacted Creative technical support a couple of years ago to obtain information on how to capture the IR commands.
They claimed not to know themselves (read: don't want to provide the information) as it was a proprietary piece of equipment !!!

Basically I think a Windows driver periodically sends an ATA command to the drive to poll for any incoming IR commands (which are captured and buffered in the drive as the drive also works standalone).
So don't count on finding anything to help you out, but please proove me wrong, please...
