I'm trying to find a solution for browsing a multimedia collection (Video, Audio, Photo's) via a Girder controlled application (without keyboard/mouse) and I'm wondering if someone has found a solution for that in combination with Girder.
Presently I have a full working Girder controlled HTPC which is really cool :P . Easy to use and combines all Audio/Video applications in a single, silent PC. The only missing part is a Girder controlled application which allows me to browse through a collection of multimedia files and select 1 to play. Ideally the browser should provide additional information retrieved from the Internet to make selection easier.
So far I've found 3 possible directions;
Media-Box
Supports only video so far and has an integrated video player (not needed to my opinion). It shows video covers and movie information which it collects from the Internet. I've not found however a solution to simply add movies on the hard disk which are then automatically recognized by the browser. I can't imagine to 'reprogram' Media-Box every time.
DVDlobby pro
It has some kind of video browser, but it looks as if it has become too complicated (supporting webtablets, etc.). I'm trying to get a clarification on this via the avsforum.
HTPC.net
This sounds very good according the description, but is based on the .NET application from Microsoft and I still don't know what that means in terms of required applications, security and required processing power. Secondly there is no more response from the programmer. However it was planned to do exactly what I wanted :cry: .
Anyone knows any alternative routes ?
