Girder has an plugin API, why don't you create the plugin yourself ? No excuses that you are not a programmer please. :-)

This IR transciever is now being used by Showshifter and Snapstream for both reception and control of the channels on set top box digital cable/satellite tuners. As opposed to many of the other Actisys units, it does not only output IrDA. Here are the specs for this unit http://www.actisys.com/ac200-220.html Does anyone know any way of getting this to function under Girder? Any help or advice would be appreciated!

BUMP... I was given one of these (used to be used for a sharp Zaurus data link. According to the manual, it can be used for either IrDA or ASK protocols. Wouldn't the ASK protocol work fine for IR control purposes?

Hey ron... well as my programming skills border on miserable at best, I may give it a try, but probably wont be finished for a year or so :) I was hoping someone with far more skill than me had looked into this. There is a sourceforge project called IR tuner that allows this tranciever to be used with the ASK protocol to change channels on set top cable or sattelite tuners for recording programs such as showshifter. Perhaps the developer might have some insight into how to make these little buggers work. I guess thats my next best option.
