Hi Guys,

Here are the contents of my Lua Console after disabling all plugins except HAI, Russound, Tree Script and Generic Serial and restarting Girder.

hai work

I'm guessing that you aren't using version 4.0.6 of Girder - that function should be in luascript\Additions.lua

jnickel
August 19th, 2006, 01:11 PM
Nope....version 4.0.5.1

I will update and let you know how it goes.

Jim

K....

I updated to 4.0.6, resintalled the latest Russound plugin, resintalled the Device manager, started up Girder and now I get the device manager on the Automation panel ok, but I don't see any devices in the pulldown - it says, "No devices".

So....I unchecked the Russound plugin, and exited Girder. Then I re-enabled it and I couldn't find it in the Serial list again. So I unchecked all the other plugins again except Russound, Serial, Treescript and HAI and then it was back in the serial list.

I still can't choose Russound in the Device Manager though...it continues to say," No devices".

Any errors in the Lua console?

jnickel
August 19th, 2006, 02:57 PM
I cleared the Lua console, exited Girder restarted and then went to Settings and then Device Manager, clicked ok and looked at the Lua console.

Here is what it had:

Okay, that's a bit strange - the errors aren't anything to worry about, you just don't have the g2g and NetRemote plugins enabled.

This is probably one for Mike to deal with since he wrote the Russound plugin.

What model of RussSound do you have?

It may be worth editing DeviceManager.lua to set the LogLevel to 0 for the full DM logging experience.

jnickel
August 19th, 2006, 04:09 PM
Actually it is a bit of a concern for me as none of my stuff works now and
I do have the Netremote plugin enabled.

I never disabled it as you enable/disable it from the Automation panel and not with the other plugins. I double checked just now that it is enabled, and it is.

I have the Russound CAM 6.6T with UNO-S1 keypads.

Can you check the comments of the file NetRemote.lua in girder\luascript - what version does it claim to be?

jnickel
August 19th, 2006, 11:55 PM
Says version 0.32

jnickel
August 19th, 2006, 11:57 PM
I rebooted and now I don't get the Netremote messages in the Lua console.

But the Device Manager still doesn't have any devices.

Here is what is shown in the Lua Console:

Delete HAI-work in your plugins\serial folder.

Ok...updated Russound plugin and HAI plugin and downloaded and installed the Device Manager.lua file and put it in plugins/treescript dir.

Still no devices in the Device Manager in the Settings area.

Did you mean DeviceManager UI.lua there? That's the one that goes in plugins\treescript.

DeviceManager.lua goes in the luascript directory.

Yeah...I meant the Device Manager UI.lua....the one that was updated in the other thread.

Jim,

Would u do this from the console...

DeviceManager:Print ()

The HAI is working using the normal HAI Actions?

And, on the Russound Setup page, the Status is OK?

jnickel
August 21st, 2006, 07:31 PM
Mike,

I can do my normal HAI stuff.

It does have some errors in the Lua Console, but everything seems to be working. The DeviceManager:Print() does nothing. Here is my console output. I only get the HAI errors after I execute a command - this one was sending a button to turn on a light. On the File->Settings->Plugin Settings->Serial the HAI says Ready and the Russound says "Getting info zone 1 on controller 2"

HAI is defintiely out of date

http://www.promixis.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2836&d=1155940503

is the latest release. Besure to delete the HAI-WORK file from the serial folder.

What does the Russound config page show?

jnickel
August 22nd, 2006, 09:15 AM
The Russound says "Getting info zone 1 on controller 2"

The HAI now shows up in the Device Manager...I hadn't deleted the HAI-WORK from the serial dir. I did update anyway, but I had done that already.

The Russound still does not show up in the Device Manager list.

Also...none of my HAI Buttons show up in the list and that is how I control my Lights as they are Lightolier Compose PLC dimmers. The only thing that show up are my Security zones - PIR and Doors and Windows.

Buttons... ah ok, I can add those :D

With the Russound. Goto to the serial dir. and delete anything that has Russound in the name.

Download the latest release from the annoucements forum.

Install and restart Girder. Goto the Automation\Russound tab. Select the right com port.

For the Russound, I exited Girder, deleted the Russound_RNET.lua file from the serial dir...downloaded the latest and installed it.

You said

>> Goto the Automation\Russound tab. Select the right com port.

I don't see a Automation tab - I do see a Automation panel on the left in the Settings section. But there is no Russound in that list. I can go to plugin settings and enable the Russound CAV and I can also go to the Serial tab on the plugin settings and select the Russound RNET for the COM1 port. And on this serial screen is where it shows "Getting info zone 1 on controller 2"

I cannot select any Russound in the Device manager.

Try this one.

jnickel
August 22nd, 2006, 10:38 PM
Aha!

I ran the install and it still didn't work.

However, I then unselected it in the serial, unchecked it in the plugins list and then rechecked it.

There still isn't a Russound one, but there is a "Audio Video Components" one listed under the Automation panel.

Also...I can't select the Russound in the Serial anymore, but maybe that is how it is supposed to be.

Now when I go in there, I select Serial port 1 and hit apply, but the controller is greyed out and I can't select it.

Jim

Update:

I went back to the Version that was released - the one called Russound RNET G4 Plugin.exe and unchecked and rechecked it.

Now it shows up with the Audio Video Components thing (probably was always there, but I was looking for Russound).

I can select it in the Serial section and I can select it properly in the Audio Video Components setup screen.

I can even select the Controller now.

However, when I go to the Action list, and pull over something like Bass or Treble or Receiver, I cannot select anything - it says, "No Devices".
