X10 Plug-in module not responsive to device manager commands

I can control the light with the regular X10 house-code unit number codes, but the device manager has no effect. The status of the light in the lighting dialogue shows the light has changed, but the actual light does nothing. Also, when I start up Girder I get a SmartHome DM error in the log for some reason. (not sure if it's related?)

I tried this yesterday it seems to work ok for me. I am using a cm11.

OK. I'm using an Insteon timer PLC. I'll try again later -- maybe it's just a question of restarting Girder or rebooting. Thanks for letting me know.
