View Full Version : girder locks-up partially

Every now and then (every week maybe) the actions which are triggered through scheduler events stop working. If I check my girder PC, girder is running, when I press the preferences toolbar button everything below the automation tab/toolbar is gone. Including the option to check the schedulers...
The workaround is to kill the girder process in task manager and restart girder. This results in lots of Mutex table errors. I can exit girder normally after this and restart it again this time without mutex errrors and running schedulers.

What plugins are you running? What tasks do you have girder do?

Ron,
Plugins: Audio Mixer, Communication Server, Copydata, dlport io, device notify, generic serial, taskcreate, taskswitch, tree script, webserver, window cond., x10-cm1x, zip, leyboard, monitor apm, mouse control, parallel, scheduler, sendmessage, simpletimer
The parallel plugin is an older api. I don't use all the plugins most plugins are the ones enabled during installation.
Tasks for girder:
Girder monitors the parallel plugin. It sends an SMS based on parallel port events, this also starts schedulers which control the X10 lamps.
Girder monitors all incoming X10 events some translate in other x10 events others display a hint or osd, others trigger a simple (sleep)timer.
The webserver runs a simple ajax webpage for switching X10 devices.
Some actions also send email to notify me.
Girder also sends girder2girder messages to another PC which monitors my main girder PC if girder is alive, which is my current problem and shouldn't be necessary.

Girder 4.07 is running now. I will keep it running and see what happens.

I have 4.08 running. After a lot a trial and error I noticed a strange thing in 4.07 and 4.08. If the system is rebooted and girder is running for the first time girder always displays these errors in the log window:
Girder Core Could not aquire mutex for Device Table
I also noticed lockups when I exit girder while it's running normally. File | Exit results in a girder window which keeps running and responding. Events don't trigger any actions. The only option is killing the girder process in task manager.

Girder Core Could not aquire mutex for Device Table is harmless. Not sure about your locking up. We fixed a locking problem in 4.0.8 though.

Ron,
4.08 is running and I have seen one lockup today. Maybe false alarm.

Bad news. I managed to lock girder 4.08 after reinstalling the callerid modem serial plugin settings which was lost after the upgrade.
I also use a CM11 and its serial setting wasn't lost after the 4.08 uprade. I don't see the X10 errors.

if you are having trouble with settings an error creeped into 4.0.8 this was fixed in 4.0.8.1. I'll let Mike (the author) know about the calledid trouble.
