The SlinkE is pretty slow in sending signals, I think up to half a second is normal. ( but nowhere near 5 seconds though )

Welcome to Girder!

I'm sorry you are having problems with the User Event plugin. :(

What you describe should work without a delay or wait between the user events. Matter of fact, I just built a test case that does this. Since my test case works, there must be something else that is contributing to this failure.

What version of Girder are you using?
What version of the User Event plugin?
How long does the Slinke take to send each digit via IR?

That error message means Girder was busy for more than 5 seconds when the user event thread tried to give Girder the event. A wait command will make this worse, not better. :(

I have a new version, just about ready for release, that allows you to delay commands. It also has a better way to learn these comands. :) Send me a PM with your E-Mail address if you'd like to try it out.

Again, I'm sorry you're having problems; but, we should be able to solve them.

EDIT: By the way, THANKS for providing so much information. This makes debugging pretty easy. ;)

I sent you back a PM. I need your E-Mail address to send the new version. :)

I wasn't able to make this fail with two user-commands in one multi-command on 3.1.2e. I check out the multi-group scenarios some more.

Thanks for your patience.

Then I must be blind. :)

Is this somewhere on the post or in the PM or in his profile or ???

I don't see an E-Mial button for him or me. Mine I understand since I chose to hide it in my profile. If Shaun has the same setting, I wouldn't expect to see his either.

Try this (http://www.girder.nl/download.php?Link=270) file. :)

PM me with your E-Mail address if you'd like to test the next version.

I was responding to Nik's message. He is trying a new version.

I sent you a new version as well. :)

No problem. I'm glad you like it. :)

I should have a release version completed soon. I'm just making sure everything holds together under some stress. ;)

As promised, the latest version (1.0.3) should be making it's way to Ron.

Changed/new stuff:
Fixed deadlock between event and command threads
Supports two (2) event types (Timestamp and Payload)
Supports delayed events (cause event XXX time from right now)
Supports timed events (cause event at XXX time)
Supports easier event learning

This will show up on the download page as soon as Ron can get it there. Please be patient.

I am slowly putting things together. Tonight, I was tackling the channel guide.

What I am trying to do, is take the paylaod from an internet event, parse it into 2 digits of a channel number, and then execute one command (0-9) for each of these digits.

I have successfully setup a multi command to parse the payload, and I am using the user event to send a user event for each digit. (each digit command outputs IR via the slinke).

The problem is that when it tries to execute the second digit I get the error "UserEvent Could not send data to girder" This occurs no matter how long the wait time between the first and second digit is.

It appears that you can not queue up a bunch of user events from one multi command?

Is there a better way of doing this? Somehow use goto to goto a variable?

I would think this would be a fairly common task.

BTW, took me a while to figure out how to learn user events. Disable everything but user events, then generate them with the test command. :D

Thanks for any advice.

Wow, Quick response.

I sent Mark a PM, so I'll try the new version.

Also more info. Using Girder 3.1

It definitely seems to be problem when using one user event action plugin + another plugin in a single multi command.

For instance, a single user command works. a user command+an slinke command does not. Two user commands will not, Two slink commands will.

Good luck.

Mark, tried the version you posted in your link. That was the same version as I had.

Same problem.

New version works great! Also like the easier event learning.

Thanks Mark.
